Jewish, African-American, Latino Community Leaders Among the Honorees


The Foundation for Ethnic Understanding, under the leadership of Rabbi Marc Schneier, President, and Russell Simmons, Chairman, presented the Joseph Papp Racial Harmony Awards on Thursday, March 18, at the home of Universal Music executive, Island Def Jam Chairman Antonio "LA" Reid.

Honorees were Tom Freston, Chairman and CEO of MTV Networks, Michael Goldstein, Chairman of the Toys 'R' Us Children's Fund, Leslie Koch, CEO of the Fund for Public Schools, Kedar Massenburg, CEO and President of Motown Record Company and Rossana Rosado, Publisher and CEO of El Diario-La Prensa. The Corporate Diversity Award will be presented to Motorola. The awards were presented by Rabbi Schneier and Mr. Simmons.

The New York Spring Benefit and Reception celebrates The Foundation for Ethnic Understanding's landmark, national work on strengthening race relations.
