RUSSELL SIMMONS JOINS FOUNDATION BOARD
Music industry leader Russell Simmons has been elected Secretary of The Foundation’s Board of Directors. Russell Simmons is the founder, Chairman and CEO of Rush Communications, a multi-media conglomerate involved in music, television, clothing, film, advertising and the internet.
“We are extremely pleased to have someone of Mr. Simmons’ caliber on our Board,” said Foundation President Rabbi Marc Schneier. “He has been an ardent and enthusiastic supporter, having been directly involved in some of The Foundation’s most important initiatives such as the Shared Dreams High School Curriculum Guide Project and our most recent national campaign to promote ethnic tolerance and understanding. Mr. Simmons brings to us not only a wealth of knowledge and experience, he also serves as an important liaison to the music community and the African-American community as well,” he said.
