The 3rd Annual Los Angeles Benefit Reception was held on June 23rd at the home of Stanley and Betty Sheinbaum. Brian Becker, Chairman and CEO of Clear Channel Entertainment, Jody Gerson, Vice President of EMI Music Publishing, Clarence Avant, former CEO of Motown Records, Tomas Cookman, President of Cookman International and Walter Yetnikoff, former President and CEO of CBS Records were presented with the Joseph Papp Racial Harmony Awards for their commitment and dedication to strengthening relations among different ethnic communities. At the event, Foundation president Rabbi Marc Schneier and chairman Russell Simmons announced that a national anti-Semitism campaign would soon be launched, featuring non-Jewish celebrities appearing in national public service announcements on television and radio. Nearly 200 guests attended the event, including our corporate sponsor Deutsche Bank, led by Hal Harley, and Foundation board of trustees member and former honoree, Hollywood director Brett Ratner.
