On Thursday, November 18th, under the leadership of Chairman Russell Simmons and President Rabbi Marc Schneier, The Foundation for Ethnic Understanding presented the “Joseph Papp Racial Harmony Awards” at its annual Fall Benefit. Being honored for their work on behalf of strengthening relations between ethnic communities were Colin Callender, President of HBO Films, Julie Greenwald, President of Atlantic Recording Group, Morris L. Reid, Managing Director of Westin Rinehart Group, Emil Wilbekin, Vice President of Marc Ecko Enterprises, and Lorraine E. Schwartz, President of Lorraine E. Schwartz, Inc.

The Foundation for Ethnic Understanding is one of the leading national organizations dedicated to strengthening race relations among ethnic communities in the United States. “The honorees that have been chosen by The Foundation best exemplify in their personal and professional lives a deep commitment and dedication to the strengthening of race relations. We are proud to honor them and welcome their leadership and support of The Foundation,” stated Rabbi Marc Schneier, President, and Russell Simmons, Chairman.

The benefit was held at the home of Dr. Mona Ackerman, a long-time supporter of the organization.
