FFEU Chairman Russell Simmons joined the United American Muslim Day Parade in New York City alongside other guests such as Mr. Khizir Khan and Speaker Melissa Mark-Viverito of the New York City Council organized by Imam Shamsi Ali and the Muslim Foundation of America.
The theme of the American Muslim Day Parade was "For God and Country." Imam Shamsi Ali said that there is no contradiction of being a good American and a good Muslim. While sharing his concerns about the unprecedented rise of Islamophobia in the country, he explained that the parade was also an event to make it clear that Muslims are against terrorism and ISIS.
The American Muslim Day Parade Street Fair is a cultural celebration held annually in Manhattan for more than 30 years to bring together members of the Muslims and interfaith communities in the New York City Metro area.
