On Wednesday, November 28, Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert invited Rabbi Marc Schneier to Washington, DC for a private meeting. On the heels of The Foundation's first National Summit of Imams and Rabbis, Rabbi Schneier and Prime Minister Olmert discussed the importance of clerical leaders, both Jewish and Muslim, taking more significant roles in the Israeli-Palestinian peace process. In a statement released, Rabbi Schneier commented "It is time for political leaders to reach out to the religious leaders for help, for it is among groups like ours that we believe changes in perceptions, values and attitudes can truly take shape. It is only logical that they are a part of this process."
