The Foundation for Ethnic Understanding held its annual New York Fall Benefit Reception on December 5th at Helen Yarmak International. The honorees were chosen in recognition of their work and dedication to the strengthening of ethnic relations, and their commitment to diversity and tolerance. The Foundation honored Michael Karsch, Founder and Portfolio Manager of Karsch Capital Management, William M. Lewis Jr., Co-Chairman of Investment Banking at Lazard Ltd. and Alex Sapir, President of The Sapir Organization. The Honorary William Thompson, New York Comptroller, addressed the audience as well as Rabbi Israel Singer. Aryeh Mekel, Israeli Consul General to New York also stopped by to personally offer his warm wishes to the honorees. Rabbi Schneier and Russell Simmons surprised Natasha Chernyavsky, Rocawear, with a special award for her continued support and dedication to strengthening interethnic ties. Over 150 guests attended the benefit including key members of The Foundation's Board of Directors. Ken Sunshine, Secretary, attended as did Michael Heningburg Jr., Treasurer, and David Renzer, Board member. View the photos from this event
