5th Annual Los Angeles Benefit Reception Held in Beverly Hills

The Foundation for Ethnic Understanding held its fifth Annual Los Angeles Benefit on August 16th, 2006. Rabbi Marc Schneier, President of The Foundation, and Russell Simmons, Chairman, presented the Joseph Papp Racial harmony award to Reginald Hudlin, President of Entertainment for BET networks, Jeff Valdez, Founder of Sí TV and John Singleton, Filmmaker. Honoree's presented with the Joseph Papp award represent prominent business and community leaders who are involved in strengthening interethnic ties within the community. Brett Ratner, distinguished director and a former honoree opened his beautiful home to The Foundation and hosted the benefit.

Over one hundred and fifty guests attended the benefit. Guests included a variety of people from the film and Entertainment industry who came to celebrate the accomplishments and efforts of their fellow friends and colleagues. Guests included David Renzer, President of Universal Music Publishing Group, as well as founder and president of Cookman International, and Former honoree, Tomas Cookman.
