The Foundation For Ethnic Understanding Honors Leaders From the Entertainment Industry


The Foundation for Ethnic Understanding held its Annual Los Angeles Benefit Reception at the beautiful home of Brett Ratner in Beverly Hills on August 22, 2007. Rabbi Marc Schneier, President, and Russell Simmons, Chairman, presented three honorees with awards for their work and dedication to the strengthening of ethnic relations and their commitment to diversity. The Joseph Papp Racial Harmony Awards were presented to Steve Smooke, Agent, Creative Artists Agency, Randy Spendlove, President, Motion Picture Music, Paramount Pictures and Charles D. King, Sr. Vice President and Agent at William Morris Agency. "The face of America is changing. The nature and influence of our society's mosaic of diverse ethnic groups is evolving with every passing day. The individuals we honor in Los Angeles in 2007 are building bridges to the culture that is being forged today for future generations...and we are deeply grateful to each of them." Rabbi Marc Schneier said.

200 guests were in attendance, including Jamie Foxx, Jim Wiatt, President & Co-CEO of the William Morris Agency, Stan Lathan, Partner & CEO, Simmons Lathan Media Group, Ehud Danoch, Consul General of Israel and Peter Ligouri, President, Entertainment Fox Broadcasting Company & former Foundation honoree.
